"DaVinci Resolve is unable to start as it has not found an OpenCL capable graphics card.“ There’s no fault with Resolve but why did Apple Store even OFFER me this application? It’s supposed to know what Mac I have!

its been awhile out on BMD website why not updated here ?? TIA
Love Davinci Resolve but why is 11 not to download here in the App store ?
I’ve had this for about 3 hours, and every time I’ve opened it, it lags my computer to the point where I can’t use it until I quit the app, even when I don’t have anything else open. I know this isn’t a coincidence because I’ve opened it twice, the same thing happened twice, and as soon as I closed it, the lag stopped… twice. I gave it two stars because this seems like it would be so great, if it wasn’t so laggy. I really hope this is fixed.
It report permission error to write to two Caches used by Davinci Resolve and you cant fix them … how long to wait to get Resolve updated is the big question.
Just a heads-up that the downloadabe version of DaVinci Resolve from the App Store has issues with loading media from network attached storage drives (it works properly for media on local storage). I downloaded the regular version from the BlackMagic website, and it works properly. Apparently this is due to restrictions that Apple places on App Store developers.
keeps crashing wont even open! SUPER ANNOYING! post some tip to make it work please.
Crashes every time I open it. Glad I didn’t have to pay anything for it.
Today I tried to instally DR from the app store on the recommendation of some other video creators. On download from the app store the program would not run at all - it just crashed on open. So, I went to the BlackMagic website and installed from there instead. At least this time on trying to run the program there was a message that states "OpenCL accelerated GPU card” required - trying to run without this means it just crashes. On a search of their forums what this boils down to is my intel graphics card is not new enough. There was a message on the install check that stated more advanced colour controls may not be available, but what it really means is the app will not run at all. If you are having problems getting it to run without crashing, this is likely your issue too.
Don’t download this version. I don’t see any files in library, but program can see all hard disks in the system! It’s better to download DaVinci from official web site. It’s free too.
10.9.5 CRASH App!
This is awsome!
Kudos to Blackmagic-Design for making this powerful app available to use freely. All Final Cut Pro X users should use this app for advanced color grading that FCP-X doesnt do itself. The interchange with the FCP-X XML is very reliable and the object tracking is much better than any app Ive used. The new Log Color correctors are very useful with footage such as that shot with sLOG and cLOG formats. I hope more apps start using this way of isolating corrections which is much more useful than the traditional 3-way color correctors.
Will not recognize external drive containing all project media when importing FCPX project file. Can’t import…can’t use! Goodbye!
What a fantastic program, only to be ruined by apples restrictions. Download from blackmagics website if you have an nvidia gpu!
This is an incredible program when it works. Can’t with current version import any xml aaf edl or anything else without program crashing. Will be downloading from blackmagic’s website thank you.
I was excited to check out Resolve after hearing so much about it, and BMD’s step into the NLE world. Now, if only I could find an instruction manual. BMD’s website, and this product description does nothing to help you figure out how to get up and running. I guess I’ll have to keep using FCPX until I can figure it out.
Crashing before I figure out how to use it. 13’ Macbook Pro Retina
This does not work, you will be sorry! Install the latest 11.1 Version Directly From Blackmagic Design, its still free!
I know that this software is free but its a mess and SUPER UNRELIABLE!!!!! I’ve been to Sundance and Tribeca Film festival dont watse your time if your looking into making short films or wedding videos, etc. Davinchi Resolve lite s the worst video software Ive ever used. Its such a hastle just importing media, and getting used to the interface. If your serious I highly recommend using Adobe premiere pro, Sony Vegas, and Final Cut if it ever improves from the current X version. I feel like its way easier to use Imovie vs resolve lite. Please dont install this either it messed up my Macbook Pro, I just bought it 3 Weeks ago and Resolve messed it all up, had to wipe it clean!
